This standards-aligned center, designed by teachers, promotes deep mathematical thinking and concept modeling through group engagement. With enough materials for up to six students, it supports Cognitively Guided Instruction, encouraging students to choose problem-solving strategies that make sense to them while engaging in hands-on activities and gamified learning. Students draw cards to compare decimals, working collaboratively to push a shared pawn toward the star to win, reinforcing their understanding of place value and teamwork. Skill differentiation is built-in, offering two levels of play with simple, shared instructions. The center is inclusive, accommodating various learning styles, and features downloadable Spanish instructions and dual-language activity mats to support language learners. Its reusable, durable format ensures year-round use, while downloadable assessments help track individual and class progress. - GEARED FOR SKILL DIFFERENTIATION: This center was designed by teachers to be standards aligned to Grades 4-5. This Comparing Decimals center offers two levels of play that share common instructions: Tenths and Hundredths, and Tenths, Hundredths, and Thousandths.
