The Cylinder Blocks introduce children to the first stage of visual discrimination of size. 10 Cylinders progress in height and diameter from small to large. Each cylinder decreases by 1/4" inch (1/2 cm) in all three dimensions, and as a result progresses in diameter from thin to thick and tall to short.
- WHAT'S INCLUDED: 10 Cylinders with wooden stand measuring 18.11"L x 3.54" W x 3.03" H made of solid beechwood with a satin smooth lacquer finish, each block has slightly rounded edges and each cylinder is individually sanded and lacquered.
- EARLY SPATIAL AWARENESS: This manipulative set educates the child's eye to perceive differences in dimension from small to big, short to tall, thin to wide.
- MOTOR SKILLS: Hand-sized pieces promote small muscle control and hand eye coordination. This indirectly prepares the child for writing since the fingers and thumb for holding a pencil are used to hold and manipulate the knobs.
