Special Products Geared to Special Needs
Are you the teacher of children with developmental disorders, sensory impairments, or disabilities that challenge them physically, emotionally or behaviorally? Special needs teachers themselves are in special need of educational resources to help them overcome the impediments to learning that go along with these conditions in children.
Really Good Stuff® offers numerous products to provide curriculum support for the large population of special needs children. Our brightly colored language and mathematics development products, targeted towards students with special needs, are grouped according to grade level. In addition to classroom use, these items are effective distance learning tools that can be applied to remote or hybrid learning programs.
Learning Tools, Activities and Games for All Grades
For pre-K and kindergartners, check out our language instruction items, like the EZread™ Sandpaper Tactile Letters (Lowercase). This activity reinforces letter identification and formation using visual, tactile and kinesthetic sensory input, accomplished respectively as students see the letter, touch its sandpaper surface and then trace the shape of the letter.
For nonverbal learners, try the Sign Language Alphabet and Common Phrases Cards, which both engage nonverbal students and expand the skills of all your students. It's known that studying sign language improves children's comprehension of their own language. For mathematics instruction, how about getting our popular Addition Tower and Task Cards? Young children love this addition and subtraction game's highly visual and tactile plastic tower.
For first graders, we have a large assortment of attractive letter, number and sign language charts. Strengthen their word skills with Dolch Pre-Primer Sight Words Dough Kit, which provides excellent tactile and kinesthetic learning by allowing students to form sight words using dough. Move on to building communication skills with Accountable Talk Sentence Starters, geared to helping children use language to express their opinions, feelings and more.
Guide students as they proceed to second through fifth grade with other activities that expand on their basic skills. Take a look at our Regrouping Mats and Manipulatives for math, a kit that lets kids write a problem (up to three digits) on an erasable mat, with sturdy manipulatives to help them solve it right on the mat. And our Environmental Impact Photo Cards is an effective way to begin introducing science concepts.
There's much to explore here, so browse around and let Really Good Stuff® set you on the road towards a fun and fruitful special needs curriculum.
