Product Overview
Elkonin sound boxes are used as an instructional technique which can quickly and easily teach students to segment the individual sounds (or phonemes) of words. Students begin by placing one counter below each box within the sound box. When orally given a word, students first repeat the word and then move the counters one at a time up into the sound boxes in a left-to-right progression as they slowly segment the phonemes in the word. After students segment the phonemes in the word using the sound box, they blend the sounds back together and say the word normally as they move their fingers along the bottom of the sound box. Standards Match
We Know Standards
In the U.S alone, nearly 30% of educational standards are overhauled, revised or edited each year. Tracking these changes demands the full-time expertise and we have the tool to manage those standards, so you can trust us as the leader in standards alignment. Correlations are made for all State, National, and Common Core Standards. In addition, we have Head Start standards for early childhood. And most recently, we’ve added both National STEM Standards and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
