I had the smaller version of this clock for many years and liked it so I ordered this larger version. It is hanging up and is more visually prominent in the classroom, but the problem is that the clock stopper does not stop at 0. instead it jumps the ridge meant to stop it and keeps going behind the rest of the clock. I have to reach in and drag it out of there every time I want to use it. I paid too much money to have to do this! Very annoying! I don't recommend this product. I had no trouble with the smaller version of this clock.

I use this timer for students to pace themselves during assignments. I like the switch that allows the teacher to choose on or off for the audible signal. It is large enough to see from across the classroom.

Helps my students understand concept of minutes
I like that students can see it anywhere in the room. I mostly use it to show them how much time they have left at snack time and then as a warning for the end of center time.
I am moving to a new school and will definitely be buying another one of these timers:)

Not Worth the Price
I use timers a lot in class - for group rotation in math and reading. I thought this would be a great way to teach my students to monitor the time that they have to complete a task. When I got the product I was disappointed in how light it was and that the legs to stand it with were not very sturdy either. Day 2 of use and the clock fell over on my desk and did not work again. I had it replaced, but the second one didn't last that long either. For price I would expect a little better quality and durability. It is a good idea, but the design is not made for an active class. I worried too much about it getting broken, so I didn't bother asking for a replacement again.

Great Timer for Transistions!
I mounted the timer on a wall with one of those adhesive hooks. The kids see how much time they have and prepare themselves for the transitions. During the Daily 5 - instead of ringing chimes, the timer alerts children to change tasks. I mounted it high up on the wall so that kids don't get to touch it. I found with my other timers, they were able to reach it and everyone wanted to shut it off. But the 4 beeps are loud and clear and less annoying than my other timers which usually sounded 50 beeps. This timer is expensive, but I know I will use it for many years to come! It is by far the best timer I've owned.
