I purchased the Unlock the Answer Math Basic Skills kit for my Kindergarten classroom. I bought these cards with the hopes of having them at a math center or student choice center. However, now that they have arrived my intentions are to use these cards in the following ways: small group led by an adult, 1:1 formative assessment with the teacher, daily math routine activity whole group. I think that the product idea is excellent; however, there is room for improvement. The ziplock pouches that hold each set of cards arrived nonfunctional or already broken. These activities are aligned with Kindergarten common core standards however since Kdg. children are predominantly non-readers they would not be able to independently engage with these activities correctly. Finally, since these products are geared for early learners the cards should be made of a sturdier, more durable, longer lasting material.
