The sleeves are made of a high quality plastic. It would be very difficult for kids to tear them and they are slightly larger than the name plates. My students can easily slide the name plates into and out of the plastic holders. Love the useful information provided on these name plates as they are specifically designed for third grade. I highly recommend this product.

Love that it has two sides and both cursive and manuscript alphabet. I still think it is too expensive for a classroom set.

LOVE THE IDEA - BUT NOT HOLDING UP WELL
I was so excited to get these desktop helper sand sleeves. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in this product. Although I love the concept of the double-sided cards themselves and the fact that they came in sleeves, the sleeves are not sturdy enough to reuse. They are such a tight fit with the cards, that students struggle to get the cards in and out to look at the information and the kids basically end up ripping the seam of the pockets. Consequently, I did not use them as often as I should have because there were cries of, "I can't do this!" which took up too much teaching time for me to help 10 students slip cards in and out. In my opinion, the sleeves should be a 1/4 inch larger than the cards to alleviate this. If you just want a desktop helper -- this one is a great 3rd grade one, but you can't attach it to the desk without the sleeve (which I cannot recommend).

I liked these nametags because they did not peel off half-way through the year. Also, the ability to flip them over was terrrific - I wrote their names in cursive for the beginning of the year, and then they wrote them on the other side to begin the 3rd Quarter.
