Great for extended response questions!
My students use this formula for all extended response questions: guided reading, social studies, health, etc. It helps in grading also. The students know that they get one point for each element: Answer, Cite, Extend.

An Ace of a Poster
I've used this poster for three years and it still works well. The stamp is a convenient addition to the whole "ACE" strategy.

An Ace of an Idea
3 point evaluation is a healthy way of "growing" competency. ACE works beautifully because an answer is worth a point, an answer with supporting evidence - 2 points, and an answer demonstrating elaboration is the best possible answer expected! Great for response in every subject:)
