Will be great...

I look forward to using these to help my second grade students practice explaining how to solve problems. The small size will help the children be less concerned with filling a big space, making it seem "doable".

very helpful

The math curriculum requires the students to show and explain how they solve math problems. This book sets the groundwork for these strategies that are required starting in kindergarten.

We use this in our second grade classrooms during Math. We create our own word problems based on the reading story from the previous week and involving the standards to be addressed in Math. The purpose of this book is to assess that students understand how to solve a problem and to help them write about that process. We love this book and the students loves writing in their math journal.
