Get kids excited about nature with this fun, educational STEM resource. Each stone has a raised animal print on one side and an indented image of the animal on the other; use them to create prints in sand, mud, or dirt, then have students follow the trail and identify which print goes with which animal. Sort the different types of farm animals, make rubbings, create impressions in clay, or use the stones to print with paint—the possibilities are endless. Made from a durable stone mix that can be used indoors and out.

great for kids

I've used these with two different preschool groups and they have worked great. Here are the pluses: if you hold them up and show the track side the kids can guess what animal it is; they seem to be pretty indestructible and are very easy to clean by running them under a faucet; they can be used as stamps, though I recommend using a pad of some kind under the paper you are stamping because they are not completely flat, but they are close. Even the parents thought they were cool! My next idea is to use them to make tracks in white play dough, like tracks in the snow, but I haven't tried that yet.
