Every two weeks a different student takes home the poster and has time to work on it. Some get help from family members to complete it. My first graders love to share what they wrote and drew. I hang it up until it is the next student's turn. They get to keep their posters. The train is perfect for my train theme and the price is right!

All about me train poster
I use it as an "all about me week" each kindergarten student gets to fill one in and share it on Monday, then on the other days of the week he/she brings in a favorite book, toy and stuffed animal to share. Friday we write about that student to create a book for that child/student.

I use these as an activity in the first week of the school year. Students complete the train and then share it with others. We really get to know each other.
Students love the train. It's so different!
We used it to launch our 'Train' theme.

learn about me posters
At start of new school year, each student takes a poster home and returns it when completed . It's a great way to get to know my incoming kindergarteners as well as for them to get to know each other. The parent involvement is priceless. Each poster is individual and unique. They're strung up like clothes on a clothes line in the classroom. We refer to them frequently. At the end of school year, I add some new 'grown-up' pictures to their poster then laminate them, then send them home. Students love these!
