Demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondence by producing the primary or many of the most frequent sounds for each consonant. Orally produce single-syllable words by blending sounds (phonemes), including consonant sounds.
I use this product with my JK/K class during large group time as a short review of beginning sounds, vocabulary building and student participation while teaching phonetics. For the word families, it is a great way to practise rhyming and learning final group of letter sounds. I have marked 26 [I made a spot for Xx] on my easel. A student chooses a tile and puts it in the correct box. When we have gone through them, we review each box and its letter sound. We will also use the tiles to sort, make up sentences using the pictures and on and on... It is nice to have the cases for easy storage.
