#TeachChat is a free, hour-long professional development opportunity developed by Really Good Stuff®. Teachers gather on Twitter to follow the discussion, get support and share ideas on timely, education-related topics. It's a great way to connect with other teachers!

Step-By-Step Instructions To Join A #TeachChat

Sign up for a free Twitter account at Twitter.com if you don't already have an account.

Go to TweetChat.com. Sign in with your Twitter username and password and click "Authorize app."

After you've signed in, type "TeachChat" in the "Enter hashtag to follow" field at the top of the page and click "Go." This will allow you to see only the comments made using the hashtag TeachChat.

Suggestion — Click the refresh speed button and move the slider to the far left so your page will refresh every 5 seconds.

Important – Make sure that you do not set your tweets to private. If you do, we will not be able to see you during the chat. Go to your Twitter Settings and uncheck the box for "Protect my Tweets."

Tweeting Tips

  • To post a comment, continue to use TweetChat and just type your message. The program will automatically include #teachchat at the end of each tweet that you write.
  • To send a message directly to us, simply type "@ReallyGoodStuff" before your comment. Example: "@ReallyGoodStuff what do you think about using Twitter in lessons?"
  • If you need help, send your message to "@ReallyGoodStuff – help!" and we will do our best to help you.
  • Join the conversation by introducing yourself with your name, the grade you teach and where you're located.
  • Don't be afraid to jump in with comments, ideas, or questions. Let us know if you are new to Twitter and TweetChats too!
If you have questions or need help, please send an email to TeachersLounge@ReallyGoodStuff.com. Hope to see you at our next Really Good Twitter Chat!
