No one ever said that making a bulletin board was easy, but when you have a tool kit that contains the things you use most often to create them, you will be one step ahead. The items listed below are used in most, if not all, bulletin boards that you will create during the school year. Consider keeping them together in a handled bucket, bag or box, so that you do not have to hunt for them every time a board is changed.
Create a Bulletin Board Toolkit
Tool Kit Supplies:
Gather the following items, many of which you probably already have on hand, and set them aside for your bulletin board tool kit.
- Stapler (that can open flat)
- Staples
- Magnetic Staple Remover
- Masking Tape
- Clear Tape
- Packaging Tape
- Permanent Markers
- Sticky Dots
- Pushpins
- Thumbtacks
- Scissors
- Glue
- Yarn
How to Store Your Supplies
A clear, plastic container with a lockable lid and handle is the ideal container for your bulletin board supply kit. Even though you’ll be able to see inside, label the box with the contents. Keep a sticky notepad in the box, as well and when you are running low on an item, make a note of it. Try to replace the missing item as soon as possible so that you have it for the next bulletin board set-up. Store the toolkit in an out of the way, yet accessible location. On the floor of your supply closet or on a high, but easily accessible shelf are great spots. You will find that having everything together will make putting up your bulletin boards a lot less stressful.
