Learn New Names By Playing With Words.
Idea by Laurie, 4th Grade Teacher, Pequannock, New Jersey:

An icebreaker activity that I’ve found to be effective is the Classmate Word Search. This year I created a word search using http://www.armoredpenguin.com/wordsearch/*. I enter in all of my students’ first names and then print out the word search and answer key. Students have fun finding each other's names and then have a class list to take home!

    * Please note: There are many Web sites online for creating word searches. Really Good Stuff, Inc. does not endorse any one specific site. The Editors.
