I say it's worth it!

A professor in grad school taught us how to make flip chutes, but they were a pain to make out of juice cartons and didn't hold up or even work properly for too long. Fifteen years later, I still hadn't gotten around to making any for my class. So....I was thrilled to find this, and even though twenty dollars seems a lot, it easily has that much value for me and my kids. I introduced it by having it sit on my desk for a few days to pique the kids' curiosity before I let them get a closer look. They were totally psyched by time it joined math group. In class, I let single students use it. Those who are ahead and will be bored waiting for the others to catch up and those who are hopelessly lost in the group and need something positive to do before they get totally demoralized (I will work one on one with them later) benefit from taking the robot to a separate table and using it. I also send it home with kids who need to develop automatic recall of math facts but don't find parents with flashcards or computer drill games appealing.

I am a Title 1 Math Specialist. My students used it in small groups where they each have their own. They loved it! They would read a problem out loud and ask their friend what they thought the answer was, and then put it in the Flashbot who spit out the correct answer quickly! They were smiling and laughing and having a great time.

Boring

Definitely not worth $19.99. My class got bored with this really quickly.
