NEW PRODUCT MANAGER

Manage the process of new product introductions for specific product categories, from concept through market introduction. Coordinate the activities of resources assigned to support new product introductions including design engineering, merchandising & marketing, operations, sourcing & procurement, to effectively bring new products to market.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive assigned new product concepts from Product Development and assemble cross functional team to establish market introduction plans
  • Manage detailed project schedule for each new product with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines
  • Work in concert with Purchasing and potential sources, to prototype, create samples and identify manufacturing methods/options for new product concepts.
  • Travel to manufacturers as necessary (domestic and foreign) for concept development, sampling, production approvals, problem resolution
  • Consult experts in conjunction with Purchasing on material options, manufacturing processes, and cost saving opportunities, on a product by product basis
  • Coordinate sampling process in conjunction with Purchasing and approval process by Product Development to achieve product introduction schedules
  • Manage project tasks list and expedite cross-functional team members in support of new product introduction
  • Keep cross-functional team informed about upcoming/planned new product introductions
  • Be available to communicate with foreign vendors during off- hours to accommodate varying time zones, as necessary;
  • Lead and coordinate a rapid response to product issues/complaints reported by the Customer Service department on newly introduced products
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve daily challenges that arise, with urgency, to maintain new product introduction schedules Gather and record results of testing at outside sources and disperse information to Team members

Education and/or Experience:

5+ years of project or product management experience. Familiar with general purchasing practices, sourcing principles. Researching product sources is a plus as well as supervisory experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Strong communication (both verbal and written), organizational, and time management skills are essential. Extremely detailed oriented, takes initiatives and has a sense of urgency. Far East experience helpful.




Merchandising Manager – Educational Products

This position is responsible for executing business unit and product line strategies to maximize performance and profitability of competitively selected and produced merchandise for marketing in the education industry. Must have an excellent understanding of merchandising and product design via modern catalog merchandising techniques. Be responsible for key product lines growth by merchandising in catalog, working with Product Development on new initiatives, and the Web Department on e-commerce merchandising. Educational Product experience and/or Curriculum based Product experience a Plus!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Create and execute business unit merchandising vision. Collaborate with catalog creative on design, layout, image, and content.
  • Management of key internal company product lines assigned to maximize contribution. Includes analysis, reporting, planning and liaison with product development
  • Manage product life cycle. Review performance for all products within assigned business unit to determine which products will be in future catalogs and on the website. Conduct exit strategies where appropriate.
  • Develop reporting to monitor key merchandising initiatives and report accordingly. Utilize data to develop go forward strategies.
  • Analyze industry trends.
  • Monitor key competitors in the education marketplace, analyzing product mix, pricing, and merchandising strategy. Report accordingly.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement product assortments according to market analysis for catalogs and website for proprietary and non-proprietary product.
  • Partner with and make recommendations to Product Development for products for further research and/or development. Test new product lines annually in all channels.
  • Interface with the web functional team to ensure merchandising objectives, for both catalog and web efforts are clearly communicated. This includes product selection, image development, content, features, and promos.
  • Responsible for meeting all deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing is required.
  • Minimum of 3 -5 years’ experience in catalog merchandising and management function using a variety of merchandising concepts, practices, and procedures, or a product management function.
  • Knowledge of online web merchandising and social media applications.
  • Proven analytical and business planning skills.
  • Strong communication (both verbal and written), analytical, organizational, and time management skills are essential.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to gain support and commitment of others to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Able to make timely decisions, anticipate problems and provide creative solutions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required




Marketing Manager –Educational Products

This position is responsible for creating and executing the marketing strategies to maximize sales performance and profitability of competitively selected and produced merchandise in the education industry. Must have an excellent understanding of marketing and merchandising via an OmniChannel strategy. Drive key product lines growth by working with Inside Sales, E-Commerce and Product Development on new initiatives and product designs. Educational Marketing, Merchandising or Product related experience is a Plus!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Create and manage the overarching Marketing strategy including the vision on 4P execution, product merchandising, and promotional calendar.
  • Management of key internal company product lines assigned to maximize contribution. Includes analysis, reporting, planning and liaison with product development
  • Manage product life cycle. Review performance for all products within assigned business unit to determine which products will be in future catalogs and on the website. Conduct exit strategies where appropriate.
  • Develop reporting strategy on key metrics creating a data dashboard. Utilize data to develop go forward strategies.
  • Analyze industry trends.
  • Monitor key competitors in the education marketplace, analyzing product mix, pricing, and merchandising strategy. Report accordingly.
  • Recommend, develop, and implement product assortments according to market analysis for catalogs and website for proprietary and non-proprietary product.
  • Partner with and make recommendations to Product Development for New Product Development and Enhanced Product Development. Test new product lines annually in all channels.
  • Drive the web strategy in conjunction with the E-Commerce team to ensure marketing objectives are aligned across all channels. This includes product selection, image development, content, features, and promos.

INSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Really Good Stuff is looking to add enthusiastic, professional, and goal-oriented inside account managers to our sales team. Account managers will help grow sales by contacting and developing new educational customers in while maintaining relationships with their current customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Outbound phone sales (telesales) building a book of business within a defined public sector territory
  • Utilize proven sales methods to prospect and identify new buying opportunities
  • Develop growth plans for existing customers
  • Learn and understand the value of our products in the education market, specifically preK-8
  • Overachieve daily activity expectations and metrics
  • Strive to meet and exceed designated monthly sales goals
  • Prepare quotes and bids as necessary
REQUIREMENTS
  • 1+ years of sales or customer service experience
  • High energy, self motivated, enthusiastic, ambitious, goal-oriented, and success driven
  • Proven success in cold calling and building relationships over the phone is preferred
  • Experience selling instructional classroom material is desired but not mandatory
  • Recent college graduates or former teachers with interest in sales are also encouraged to apply.
