What is the one school supply you must have to have a great start to your new school year?

One?? I can only choose one? I go to Walmart and usually wind up with a cart full of items. However, I always start with folders which I give on the first day as a homework/parent communication folder.

JaniceM, it is hard to choose just one! My one would be composition notebooks. I like to have the students decorate and set up their interactive notebooks as soon as possible.

Teaching 1st graders in an inner city school with limited resources, one must be thrifty. The number one supply is tissues, believe it or not. I’ll send notices home throughout the year to ask for donations. You know as soon as one 6 year old needs a tissue, they all do! Lol
Other than purchasing things on Really Good Stuff, I found a organization for educators called NAIER. They have supplied my classroom this past year with a ton of things for little money.

The one supply that I must have is my new flair (black) pen. However, I will take any color available.

Baggies. I can’t live without them and use them for everything. They are great for organizing centers, games, supplies, student belongings, science experiments, and anything else. My students must use a gallon baggie to keep any book that they borrow from my library in when it leaves the classroom to help preserve the life of the book.

Too hard to pick just one, but plastic sturdy folders are a must!
