My advice would be to meet your student where he’s at. If he’s a fidgeter, get him a fidget band for his chair or a fidget toy. Sometimes that will do the trick. If he has to stand or pace, that’s okay. Let him stand or pace, but make sure you’re giving him clear expectations, as well. Also check his IEP and see what accommodations and modifications he has or maybe should have on there. Engage him and keep him on track with the things that he’s good at and if you still need some help, reach out to your admin or a para and see what they suggest – especially if he was in the same school last year. His former teacher may have a trick that works for him that you don’t know about! HTH!
