Have fun with the 100th Day of School this year!Ā Celebrate your studentsā accomplishments and let them know just how very proud of them you are.Ā The ideas below are really good ways to get them thinking and having fun at the same time.
3 Fun 100th Day of School Activities
100 Firsts
Among other things, George Washington is remembered, because he was our first president. Work with your class to generate a chart list of 100 memorable “firsts” that stand out in their lives. If possible, have children give the dates (or approximate dates) for each first event.Ā Everything from āFirst toothā to āFirst airplane rideā would be appropriate to add to the chart.Ā If possible, record each student’s firsts in a separate color marker.
10 Years From Now
On the 100th Day of School, ask your students to imagine where they will be in 10 years.Ā What will they be doing?Ā How old will they be?Ā What will be their favorite story to tell about an event that happened 10 years ago?Ā Have them record their answers in a journal, on a video, or in a letter.Ā Save them and, in 10 years, send them to the students to see if their predictions were correct.
100 Seconds
Celebrate the 100th Day every 100 minutes of the school day.Ā Have students do an activity for 100 seconds every 100 minutes.Ā Quiet activities can include journal writing or listening to a story being read.Ā You can use it to get the wiggles out by having them do jumping jacks, stretches, run in place, dance to music or hop for those 100 seconds.Ā Students can also figure out how many ā100 second breaksā they will have throughout the day by dividing the school day by 100 minutes.

Ruth Jensen says
We are in a small school of one class of each grade but the lower elementary teachers, Kindergarten through 3rd grade get together and plan 2 one hundred day activities each that can be used by all the students with some modification. We take the morning and rotate the classrooms each 20-30 minutes and present our activity for their involvement. They have fun doing 8 different activities and then if we want to do more of the same with our own class we have the afternoon to do that. It has been successful for several years.

You could also plan to read for 100 minutes on that day.
