I have to display rubrics for assignments this year, so I immediately thought of this border. How many stars for overall rating? We are used to that concept, so it works great with my rubric system. Instead of 1 - 2 - 3, etc, we will use stars. Star samples will go on this board. What a 1-Star paper looks like (along with the rubric)...What a 4-Star paper looks like...etc. Eighth-graders will appreciate this board being available, and I am sure they will look at it because the border frames the rigor and accountability expectations that we have to stress.
